Most people believe that working in the
medical field is only for doctors, surgeons, compounders, nurses and ward boys,
but they might be wrong. There have been so many jobs emerging in the medical
profession which have attracted young professionals to make their career in the
medical profession. Such jobs include that medical transcription, medical
representatives, medical scientists, administrative assistant, etc.
A medical administrative assistant has to take care of the complete administrative
and clinical works and ensure smooth working of the laboratory as well as the
office on a day-to-day basis. However, tasks may vary differently for different
offices, and also on the location and type of the workplace. In bigger clinics
and hospitals, there are multiple admin assistants who can make the tasks
simple, as the burden is equally divisible among everyone. And yes! Do not get
confused with physician assistants, whose task is to test, diagnose and treat the
patients. They work under the direct supervision of the doctors.
The
administrative assistants job is
one such opportunity that has shaped up careers of many. They are responsible
to take care of a doctor's clinic or office. It is the position which is
non-technical and is inclined towards more administrative tasks. A person needs
to be responsible enough to take care of administrative, clerical and technical
tasks of the doctor’s office. He is a support of a physician or his assistant. Also,
he has to take care of the front and back office works, while taking care of
the lab works. Overall, it’s a task of great responsibility, where the salaries
are not paid much as they are ought to be paid. However, these jobs are not for
technically sound people, it is a career for the people who have no technical
experience, but have the zeal to work under pressure, with complete dedication.
