UAE - A leader in Tourism Jobs

There is another great news for those looking for jobs overseas as after Lebanon and Gulf, UAE is hiring too. Tourism authority has forecasted that UAE will lead the world in creating tourism economy employment. As predicted by World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), it is expected to generate 5.7% annual growth in travel and tourism related employment between 2010 and 2020 which is the fastest in the world.

The contribution of travel and tourism to UAE's GDP is expected to grow from 16.6% in 2010 to 21.7% by 2020 according to WTTC. It will clock an annual rate of around 8% to grow its travel and tourism economy GDP the fastest in next 10 years. According to WTTC data, the contribution of the T&T economy to employment will surge from around 14% of total employment in 2010 to 18% by 2020. With a 4.7% growth rate during the same period, GCC peer Qatar is ranked ninth on the list.

Travel and tourism is one of the most important sectors across the world and thus, has a huge employer and employee base. 2009 was a bad year for the global travel and tourism sector but even in such a depressed year, it employed over 235 million people across the world which is 8.2% of all employment and generated 9.4% of world GDP. This is enough evidence to be certain of the flourishing job market Middle East and UAE in the coming decade i.e. by 2020.

UAE is bound to be a hit as an employment destination in the coming times. Lakhs of jobs are already being generated in one sector, so one can’t probably think of the total number of jobs available in the country. Expatriates have better scope for jobs in UAE especially in travel and tourism industry.

Jobs for Finance Professionals in Qatar

The economy of Middle East countries like Qatar is clearly bouncing back with last week reports declaring it a hiring season in Middle Eastern world. In continuation with the reports of companies in Middle East regions open to recruitment, news of large-scale need for finance professionals in Qatar has come up. Qatari companies are on a hunt for manpower in its financial domain leading to opening up of large number of jobs in Qatar.

The number of vacancies in the finance sector of Qatar has increased due to a near end of the downward trend of its economy. According to sources, this has resulted in generating at least 5,200 finance jobs in Qatar, increasing the workforce employed in financial companies of the city. Based on the report by an executive search firm Kinsey Allen International, it has been confirmed that the overall strength of economy and the flooding of foreign investments in Qatar are responsible for creating this wave of finance jobs.

The revenues developed by LNG (liquefied natural gas) projects during recession proved extremely helpful in maintaining and even uplifting the economy of the emirate. Qatar has now become the largest exporter of LNG in the world and is expected to grow productions further. The government of Qatar has been making efforts to reach to the levels of bigger cities like Dubai and Bahrain. This is evident as:

1. Oil and gas revenues have helped in expansion of Qatar’s financial sector as it has been competing with Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.
2. Qatari companies have successfully been able to avoid debts. The government has strongly assisted banks by investing billions of dollars.
3. Kinsey Allen’s research shows that the stability of Qatar’s economy encouraged foreign investments to grow from US$3.63 billion in 2008 to $20.75bn last year.

Get ready to work in finance industry of Qatar.

Abu Dhabi : A Soon-To-Be Industrial Hub

Abu Dhabi has always been offering vast employment opportunities to job seekers across various industries. The capital of UAE, Abu Dhabi is the epicenter of political, cultural and commercial activities of the nation. It is one of the best Gulf cities for expatriates to work in as it offers excellent lifestyle and huge number of jobs that keep growing. According to a recent report, the industrial sector of Abu Dhabi has become a major contributor to the emirate’s economy.

The industries in Abu Dhabi are working on making it a regional industrial hub and this seems to be happening soon. The industrial sector of the city has added more than $12 billion (Dh44bn) to the emirate’s GDP and there are several projects planned to probably double the figure. It was announced at the first session of Abu Dhabi Economic Forum by Mohammad Al Qamzi, CEO of the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones that a five-year strategy to support the industrial sector of the capital has been drawn. Al Qamzi facilitates investment in the city while completing licensing procedures for industrial institutions. He added that the new trends see licensing of industries related to building materials in addition to providing infrastructural support. This would help meet the needs and demands of local markets for the next seven years as well as of the investors for better functioning of the industrial climate.

These massive developments apparently emphasize the growing market of Abu Dhabi all the more. Eventually, it is expected to expand in the near future, creating a wider job base for the expatriates. Incidentally, jobs in Abu Dhabi are all set to increase in number with the seemingly obvious expansion of the industrial sector in the capital. Wish you all the luck to land with one of those most sought after Abu Dhabi jobs !
