Employment in the Construction Industry

Middle East countries have a number of jobs on the board. Among which most of the jobs are available in the construction industry, due to booming construction industry. The construction jobs welcome workforce from all sections; no matter they are skilled or non-skilled.

The construction industry depends on skilled workers for the electrical work, installing drywall, masonry, shovel work and many more. After recording a slight decline in the 1990s, the workforce in the construction industry has experienced a rise, which has now reached an annual rate of 4.5%. The construction industry of the Middle East is dominated by many small businesses and more than half of construction jobs come from companies with 20 or fewer employees. In addition, a third of construction workers are self-employed.

However, there is need for the government to interfere and revise the payment of the construction workers. It is a well known fact that the average hourly wage of construction workers is still slightly below to that of workers in the production of goods. But the good news is that the demand is ever increasing. The increased demand for labor has lowered the unemployment rate in the construction industry, which was at its lowest level in the recent past.

The future growth and the payments in the construction vacancy are increasing and so are the hopes of the construction professionals in the Middle East. In the UAE itself, $35.6 billion worth of construction projects are running which demand construction professionals on a regular basis.

You can find a number of profiles in real estate and construction sector, which are vacant and wait for the right candidate. The person with a perfect combination of qualification and experience is always sought in such construction job. Apart from high paying, jobs in the Middle East are tax free.
