Job Profile of a Medical Administrative Assistant



Most people believe that working in the medical field is only for doctors, surgeons, compounders, nurses and ward boys, but they might be wrong. There have been so many jobs emerging in the medical profession which have attracted young professionals to make their career in the medical profession. Such jobs include that medical transcription, medical representatives, medical scientists, administrative assistant, etc. 

A medical administrative assistant has to take care of the complete administrative and clinical works and ensure smooth working of the laboratory as well as the office on a day-to-day basis. However, tasks may vary differently for different offices, and also on the location and type of the workplace. In bigger clinics and hospitals, there are multiple admin assistants who can make the tasks simple, as the burden is equally divisible among everyone. And yes! Do not get confused with physician assistants, whose task is to test, diagnose and treat the patients. They work under the direct supervision of the doctors.

 The administrative assistants job  is one such opportunity that has shaped up careers of many. They are responsible to take care of a doctor's clinic or office. It is the position which is non-technical and is inclined towards more administrative tasks. A person needs to be responsible enough to take care of administrative, clerical and technical tasks of the doctor’s office. He is a support of a physician or his assistant. Also, he has to take care of the front and back office works, while taking care of the lab works. Overall, it’s a task of great responsibility, where the salaries are not paid much as they are ought to be paid. However, these jobs are not for technically sound people, it is a career for the people who have no technical experience, but have the zeal to work under pressure, with complete dedication.
