Jobs in Sharjah: Attracting Expats


Apart from the nail biting cricket matches and the big stadium, Sharjah is also famous for the oil and gas job and reserves that have been satisfying the needs of different countries of the world. Sharjah has been the place which has always attracted people to work there. Among the Middle East, some of the places are very good at offering high paying jobs and a good lifestyle to the expats. The growing economy and the increased revenues have added to the country’s increased expat population.

Jobs in Sharjah is a very attractive option for the expatriates from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Philippines and some of the western countries, like UK, US, Germany, and other countries.

Jobs in Petroleum Industry:

The main source of income, which contributes in the major portion of the turnover of the Sharjah’s economy, is petroleum industry. UAE has the biggest sources of petroleum in the world and oil and gas jobs , and the location of Sharjah as a port makes it a good option for petroleum companies to open up refineries and other plants in the country.  

Jobs in Transportation
Having big reserves of petroleum, Sharjah has a number of ports for the transportation of both crude and processed products. These ports need professionals such as technicians, engineers, labourers, accountants, etc.  

Work Timings in Sharjah
The working hours in Sharjah are usually from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, a total of 9 hours. The month of Ramadan brings some relief, when the working hours are reduced to 6 hours a day. Fridays are strictly off and no working is allowed on Fridays.

Visa for Sharjah
The foreign professionals willing to take up work in Sharjah, need to have an updated passport and a residence visa of UAE. The companies that offer jobs in Sharjah, generally sponsor working permits that enable the employees to work within the country till their emirates job contract ends.
